About the University of Waterloo

The University of Waterloo also commonized as UW or UWaterloo, is a public research university established in 1959 with its campus in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The academic program is administered by six faculties and thirteen faculty-based schools.

Nicknamed “Warriors” the academic program is administered under these faculties; Applied Health Science, Arts, Engineering, Environment, Mathematics, Science. These faculties houses thirteen schools.

Scholarship Description

The University of Waterloo International Masters Award of Excellence is open for International Students.
The scholarship is for students in view of a Masters level program(s) in any of the Researched based schools at the University of Waterloo. The deadline for the scholarship is Annual.

Scholarship Benefit(s)

Successful candidates are awarded scholarships worth $2,500 per term for a maximum of five terms.

Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • Only students entering the first term of their program are eligible.
  • Applicants must be International students with a valid Canadian study permit who are registered full time and assessed international tuition fees.
  • The scholarship will be awarded to Masters degree students in research-based programs (thesis or major research paper).
  • Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence through criteria established by the Faculty and must meet the academic progress requirements of their program and not have outstanding probationary admission requirements.

How to Apply for University of Waterloo International Masters Award of Excellence

Candidates will be automatically considered for this award based on their application for admission; hence, no separate scholarship application is required.

The Departments and/or Faculties select the students and nominate them for the scholarship.

The application deadline for most Masters programs commencing September 2021 fall within January to February 2021.
